Rob Allen, owner of Sibri Trucking Ltd, started his company in 2019. He purchased a pink truck at the time but decided to keep its striking pink colour whilst ‘putting his own stamp on it’. He says he embraces the pink to highlight and support Breast Cancer awareness whilst donating to Support Breast Cancer and other charities.
Rob explains; ‘Many members of my family have been lost to cancer; I lost my mum when I was 18 to Bowel Cancer, she was 43. My Auntie had Breast Cancer. The plan was to use the truck for fund raising in local shows and festivals in and around the North, as I like to support local events. That was until Covid-19 - hopefully, this can go ahead later this year.’
‘As you will see on the back of my cab, the truck and company were set up in memory of my Mum and Dad, so Mum’s charity is Support Breast Cancer and Dads is British Biker Relief Fund.’
Rob has had 23 years in the transport industry, and before that, he was a quantity surveyor.
‘I’ve driven trucks throughout Europe and I have experience in, and with, most forms of transport.’ On talking about Sibri Trucking ltd, Rob said ‘I’m now bringing that knowledge to my own company. I specialise in Bulk tipper work as a registered TASCC operator, but recently I have been doing nationwide box work. However, I spent many years on flats, roping and sheeting, low loaders, and abnormal, and so the ethos of the company is that I can offer traction of almost any trailer with the experience to carry out a successful delivery. That is why I picked this DAF truck.’
‘I’m a big fan of DAF after travelling Europe in a 95, but also my truck comes with hydraulic equipment for tipping and walking floor trailers and a sliding fifth wheel so I can hook to almost anything.’
