This year was the 40th edition of the infamous DAKAR Rally, where race enthusiasts and daredevils from across the globe to compete in one of the world’s most challenging racing events.
Staged in the stunning setting of South America, this year’s event started in Lima, Peru, running through Argentina, Bolivia, before finally finishing in Cordoba, Argentina.
44 teams in total entered the truck racing series with five of those driving DAF trucks:

Maerk Leeuw NETHERLANDS – Leeuw Rallysport NLD
Richard De Groot NETHERLAND – Fireman DAKAR Team

As usually the event saw a lot of support online with fans from across the globe sharing pictures from of the trucks racing across South America. Here are just a few of our favourite DAF photos from the event.
The DAKAR Rally is renowned for its challenging environments and demanding stages, so much so that only 41% of trucks that entered event finished. Team CRV finished in 18th position, a testament in itself to make it through the legendarily difficult race.
