Looking at the truck market over 6 tonnes, here are 10 things you might not have know about the November 2016 UK HGV market...

 

1). The November 2016 truck market at 4,121 units was up 7.6% or 312 units compared to November 2015.

 

2). The November market had rigid registrations at 55.5% with tractors at 44.5%. YTD rigid registrations at 60.1% reflects a strong rigid year against the usual split of 55% v 45%. 

 

3). DAF was Market leader in November with 1,251 registrations (30.4%), giving a 4.5% point increase compared to November 2015, second place on 810 (19.7%) and third on 693 (16.8%).

 

4). DAF is market leader YTD as of November with 12,774 registrations (30.5%), up 4.0% points compared to YTD November 2015, second are on 6,692 (16.0%) and third on 6,022 (14.4%).

 

5). DAF's volume YTD November is up by 21.5% compared to YTD November 2015, this is the highest increase in share of all manufacturers.

 

6). Rolling year November 15 to November 16 shows 46,198 vehicles have been registered with DAF having a market leading share of 29.7% over 6 tonnes with 86.4% more registrations than second place.

 

7). Rolling year November 15 to November 16 shows the under 16t sector up 23.8% (1,778 units), with the over 16t sector up 7.4% (2,548 units).

 

8). The top 4 manufacturers make up 73.7% of the total registration market YTD November.

 

9). DAF is on of the main winners so far in 2016 gaining 4.0% market share points. 

 

10). The forecast for the market in 2016 is 45,850 although the seasonally adjusted number from the first 11 months of 2016 indicates a market of 45,650.
